Voice: Musical   Theater

Musical theater training incorporates elements of classical technique but also incorporates belting, a more speech-like quality, and a wider range of vocal colors. It often uses a higher larynx and more varied vowel shapes.

This was one of the first musical theater pieces I learned when I began lessons. Click play to listen.

I have performed in multiple musicals as the lead (see Beauty and the Beast, 2023) or significant supporting lead (see The Sound of Music, 2024). With each of these, I trained vocally for months to improve my voice and breath control for each show. See the home performance page here.
